My 1979 Trans Am NCE convertible

Here are some photos of my 1979 403 Olds powered ragtop Trans Am.
I like it, and that's why I bought it.
Living out in SoCal, by the beach, it was a blast driving it around all the time.
Since I have it out here, I need to redo the tranny.
It still fires up, and I start it every two weeks or so.
May be alittle too hot out here during the summer, and too cold during the winter, but I intend to keep her! ;D

Back in the day,
I use to go to huge west coast Trans am events, and besides showing my car, I would autocross them.
Here is a few photos of one show, the 1987 Trans-A-Rama, that was held in Reno, Nevada.

Here, at the picnic, held at a local park.



Here, autocrossing at the Sparks, Nevada GM plant.



And here, inside the hotel that hosted the event.
It is the main dinning room on the third floor of the Casino.
We all got to sit around the cars, at tables, eating and having a grand time.
I miss these events.

Some nice looking second gen Trans Ams from the 1980s. When these pictures were taken, these cars were less than 10 years old.

Nice car George. Looks like you had some good times with it back in the day. Hope you still are. Must be tough deciding which one to drive.
