This second gen car is a 1978 PontiacTrans Am, 400 V8, nicely optioned, two door hard top with 84K miles. The history of this car is that it was purchased in Las Vegas Nevada in 1978 and then spent time in California. It made it out to Colorado briefly until the last owner moved the car to Missouri for about a year. The car was purchased by me in 2006 and it was shipped to Connecticut. It has undergone a body and engine rebuild overhaul over a period of 2 years with attention to maintaining its stock and original appearance and some modifications to increase performance. Purchased in running condition in 2006, I am the 4th owner of this car. This Trans Am left the factory with its“W72” motor. The four speed transmission was rebuilt, a new Hays performance clutch was replaced. It has the factory WS6 suspension and the car is coded as WC with 4 speed. This car was built as a 4 speed Trans Am and WS6 suspension package. It came from the facory painted Chesterfield Brown with a Camel interior, deluxe interior, gauges, power windows, power door locks, front disk brakes, AM FM radio, drivers and passenger side remote mirrors, wheel well and door chrome trim guards. The previous owner, while restoring the car, made the car into a tribute Bandit clone, repainting the car in Starlight Black with a black vinyl interior. The build sheet was found under the rear seat. It has the PHS documentation packet. The car still has the WS6 gold diamond spoke 7 inch wide wheels and the original keys. The factory Rochester carburetor has been saved and a new Edelbrock sits on the factory intake and the original distributor is there. Recently I replaced the four core radiator with another and installed new rear springs and shackles, replaced the starter with a hi-torque unit, installed new suspension bushings, new spindles and front end suspension parts. I also replaced the 4 core radiator, added a Flowmaster 3 inch X pipe stainless exhaust system with dual mufflers and installed Hooker Super Competition ceramic coated long tube headers for a really cool sound.
