wet sanded with 1000 grit. and going to go over it again with 2000 grit to take the 1000 marks out of it. it could be buffed now but to take the 1000 marks out it will buff that mutch better.

I had some problems with the clear and had to re-paint the car.
tested the new paint /clear . :o ;D 2000 wet sand, buffed and polished.
should be done Sunday. then start putting Humpty Dumpty back together. also got my seat cover from Hitman today.
the rest of the parts got fogged today the body tomorrow.

I am not sure why you needed to repaint the car.
But the new paint and clear coat looks like a mirror
Can you post a video on how you wet sand, buff and polish to get that finish to look like glass?

Re: Re: 77 W72 trans am Restoration
I will do that the next time , Im about to start on a 76 50th LE
I'll get into some detail on some how to's on it..
I had the same problem with the clear on the trunk lid I repainted.
it looks really good inside in the lights but outside it looked like it had metal flakes in it.
so over the last month it got sanded down and blocked again and painted Marty Blue

Re: Re: 77 W72 trans am Restoration
let me know what y'all think of this color.... Lori and I wanted it blue from the start. just thought when I sold it , a Black ta would sell alot quicker then any other color. so now that its not for sale and when I picked up the new paint I got the marty blue and added pearl into the color. the pearl really makes the blue pop and change colors as you walk around the car. we really like it.
here is a few pics. I really hope I dont get doged for a 78 color on a 77.
just paint no clear
cleared
wet sanded
first buff not polished yet.
started getting it back together

Doug that blue is beautiful. Who care if someone doesn't like your choice of color. It's your car. Enjoy it.
