Fitting a 70-77 8 track into a new repro console Empty Fitting a 70-77 8 track into a new repro console

Im working on fitting my 8 track into the new repro console.

I'm going to install the dash mounting bracket to the new repro console. ( repro is plastic )

what I need to know is , what fasteners hold the 8 track brackets? I found some 3/16 carriage bolts that will work on the dash mount bracket.

the bracket is on the outside so I can mark the holes

I would like to see a pic of the fastener that holds the 8 track bracket on. thanks. more to come once I find the correct screw.

no info as of yet on the 4 screws that holds the brackets. So I used some dash screws from a t/a . it looks correct I guess.

posting just in case some one is looking for the harness, like I was. I'll add to this thread for the install of the harness and radio

found a guy that makes and rebuilds the harnesses. epay name themrgrandprix if the link doesnt work.

he also sells the clips from the dash if yours are cut off. correct speaker plus to.

Doug I decided to stay with the plastic bracket. I have heard that a lot of people have problems with the Plastic Brackets. I hope I don't. But if I do I will use your procedure. I used self tapping screws to connect the 8 tracks brackets to the console.

I to stayed with it in my 79 t/a. when I get time , I'm going to swap it to. it will not bolt to the dash. there not glued in the right spot.

plus I want the look of the rivets on it.

you did a nice job on the install and paint.
