Bumper/grill/head light - Fender flares 3/27/12 - Done!
Well, decided to tackle my bumpers as best I can and threw in redoing the grills and headlight "bezels" I guess there called. I'll let the pics do the talking. I've never done this but I talked with my buddy Mike, here locally, and he gave me some pointers to follow and whalla. I've got to say that I'm pretty proud of myself. I started at 10:00am and, whew, didn't get done until 7:30pm. I didn't know sanding, masking, and painting took so freakin long!! Car definitely looks much, much better.
What they looked like prior to my work today...
Prepping for paint, I didn't take any pics of the grille and headlight prepping...
Masking...
And completed....

In the picture after sanding it almost looked liek you chromed the bumper strip. I really had to look twice.
Looking good!!! I always liked the blacked out headlight look.

Great Job. One of these days either you're going to make it up here or I'm going to make it down your way. One way or the other I will see your Bird.

OK, we are almost done. I installed the welting on the flares today ...
Fenders painted and wet sanded, just need to do compound on it to shine it back up. They look pretty good, unfortunately the paint is a slightly lighter shade of red. It is hard to notice but if you are looking for it you can see it. Pieces will be installed tomorrow as I want the glue to set up over night..

Done! Pictures aren't so good the sun was shining too brightly with the angle I had but they'll do They look good, finally, after 6 years of owning this thing and having the flares and spoiler for 4 or 5 of those years. Lots of thanks to Mike McArthur for his help in getting this done!
